Stockton Independent Advisory Group (IAG)

The Independent Advisory Group ‘Aims’ are to work as partners with the police service to:

  • Increase trust and confidence in policing amongst all communities; and
  • Provide constructive advice to local police  on ways to improve the quality of service delivery to all communities

 Our ‘Objectives’ are to:

  • Critically appraise organisational policies, practices and procedures
  • Make significant contributions to both strategic and tactical considerations, particularly with reference to critical incidents
  • Make observations both within the police service and the role it plays in the wider community
  • Instil just and fair relations between the police and the communities they serve, as well as between communities

 Membership of Stockton’s Independent Advisory Group is open to individuals and/or representatives (a nominated person plus a deputy) of all community groups residing either permanently or temporarily in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees.
