Time To Change - Let's End Mental Health Discrimination

Time to Change is a growing social movement working to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems. We've already reached millions of people and begun to improve attitudes and behaviour.
The majority of people with mental health problems report being misunderstood by family members, shunned and ignored by friends, work colleagues and health professionals, called names and much worse by neighbours. This stigma and discrimination is what prevents people from seeking help; this can delay treatment and impair recovery.
Time to Change provides support by:-
- Changing attitudes in the workplace - it can be really hard to open up about mental health at work: 95 per centr of people calling sick with stress give a different reason. That's why we work with employers to change attitudes to mental health in their workplace.
- Change the attitudes of children and young people - we need to reach the next generation if we want to change attitudes towards people with mental health problems. That's why we suppport schools to deliver assemblies, lessons and other activity to their students.
- Changing attitudes in communities - people with mental health problems say discrimination from friends, family and neighbours has the biggest impact. We support hundreds of champions to reach people and change attitudes where they live.
