Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children, may help with the extra costs of looking after a child who:

  • is under 16 years old
  • has difficulties walking or needs much more looking after than a child of the same age who doesn’t have a disability.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) can be paid regardless of your income, savings or National Insurance contribution record and is a tax free benefit. You can get PIP even if you are working or studying if you:

  •  are aged between 16 and 64 years old
  •  have a long term illness or disability
