University Hospital of North Tees - Inpatient and Outpatient Children's Services
Children's service provides a nursing and medical service to all children and young people with an identified nursing and medical need in hospital and community settings, supporting and empowering children and young people with acute and long-term conditions. Children's services aim to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitate earlier discharge when possible.

- Community children's nursing service
- Inpatient facility
- Paediatric day unit-urgent assessment and day care
- Ongoing nursing assessments
- Care planning
Depending on the needs of the young person some services may be delivered from the home or in the community as an alternative to hospital attendance.

Services are universal however specialist support is offered including:
- Targeted community children's nursing
Single side rooms and single clinic rooms are available to maintain privacy and dignity. Play rooms, adolescent room and a range of sensory equipment available. Hoist facilities for children and young people with limited mobility. Orientation on admission and through discussion with the nursing team. Individualised care plans will identify the child/young persons needs.
