Mealtimes are an important part of the day where all children and adults can share a meal together and engage in essential conversations and build relationships with peers in a secure, calming environement. Children are encouraged to develop skills such as communication and social interaction with peers and develop independence through self-service, as they are encouraged to make healthy food choices. We provide a rotational menu which incorporates the changes in seasons and all meals, including our weaning menu for babies, are prepared onsite using fresh and healthy ingredients by our qualified and experienced cook. Our setting caters for a wide range of dietary and cultural requirements, taking into account any allergies children may have. Our children are porivded enriched learning opportunities throughout the day to share in interactions at mealtimes throughout snack times mid morning and afternoon, lunch time and evening tea.

Our practitioners are here to discuss individual requirements and ensure that anyone attending the setting feels valued.

Local Offer

Here at Redhill nursery, we welcome all children to our setting and understand that the needs of each individual will vary in relation to welfare, Safeguarding, medical needs, learning and development requirements. We strive to identify early indicators with regards to Special Education Needs (SEN) and work in close partnership with parents and carers, the local authority and external agencies to provide early intervention and support to those who need it most.

We have dedicated Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCOs) within the setting who specialise in identifying needs and implementing strategies, advice and support in line with parents, carers and external agencies. The Senco will co-ordinate communication meetings and continually monitor progress of strategies implemented, identifying targets and support which is tailored to each child individually.
