Speech and Language UK
Speech and Language UK are the national children's communication charity. They help parents who are concerned about their child's development. They also provide information to help support children and young people with their speech, language and communication needs.
Are you concerned that your child is struggling with talking and understanding words? You are not alone. There are currently 1.9 million children across the UK who face the same challenges.
In Stockton-on-Tees Speech and Language UK deliver our Stockton-On-Tees Talks programme to offer resources and information for parents and carers, communities and early years settings, libraries and health services to help children develop their communication skills before they start school.

- Advice Line - Speech and Language UK's free advice line is a confidential phone call with an experienced speech and language advisor for families living in the United Kingdom
- Child's progress checker - Speech and Language UK's progress checker is based on what they know about how babies and children develop skills. Choose the age of the child and then answer the questions. At the end, you will be directed to some helpful advice and resources.
- Resource library for families - a wide range of information on specific speech and language related topics including communicating in different ways, children learning multiple languages, Developmental Language Disorder and much more.
