Nepacs youth project - North East
Nepacs is a charity which aims to support and enhance the lives of people as they navigate the justice or social care systems, ensuring they always have someone trusted by their side, aiding understanding, facilitating wellbeing and promoting positive choices.
The charity provides a range of services within north east prisons for visitors, including children and families, and prisoners.
The Nepacs youth project supports young people aged 8 to 17 years who are impacted by a family member's imprisonment. This includes:
- youth zones in HMP Frankland and Northumberland where young people can relax prior to visits, chat to other young people or specialist Nepacs workers
- one to one support for young people during visits or in the community either face to face or online
- outreach activities
- therapeutic interventions in an outdoor setting
